Registration and class guidelines

Registration is Easy!

1. Print out a registration form from our website at www.tallgrassarts.org and mail it with payment.

2. Call and register by phone when the gallery is open – (708) 748-3377

3. Stop by the Gallery between the hours of 11am and 4pm on Tuesday through Saturday. The Gallery is closed on Sunday and Monday.

Payment Must Accompany Registration

Class registration is not complete without payment. We accept cash, and personal checks made payable to Tall Grass Arts Association. If registration is done by phone, MasterCard or Visa must be used to confirm registration. It is also possible to pay by PayPal. Go to the web page entitled "Register for Class” and use the PayPal link. Remember to write the name of the student in the ‘special instructions’ section for PayPal.


Refunds will be made only if the class is cancelled, or if registrant cancels at least one week before the first class. No refunds will be made after the class or workshop begins.


Cancellation occurs when there is insufficient enrollment; Tall Grass reserves the right to cancel any class. Minimum enrollment for most classes is five (5) within one week of the class start date. Students will receive notification of cancellation.

A Discount is offered for Classes for Toddlers and Classes for Children and Teens when at least two (2) different students register from the same household. The discount is a total of $5 from the balance. If electronic registration methods do not properly calculate your discount, please bring in your registration information for the adjustment. Discounts apply for registrations from the date of this printing.

We are also available to facilitate your after school art program.

Classes for Children and Teens

These classes are designed for students age 5 to 18. Students in this emergent age group are encouraged to develop their own art styles and tastes. Activities allow students to be expressive and to communicate through various art tools, techniques, and materials.

Homeschoolers / Instructor: Pat Moore/Kim Watts / Price: $45 per session / Day: Thursday / Time: 12:30pm to 2:00pm

Beginning and advanced students explore drawing and painting using charcoal, pen and ink, pencil, pastel, and watercolor. One session will include drawing and painting with a live model. Art history is also a part of the curriculum.

Young Artists / Instructor: Pat Moore/Kim Watts / Price: $45 per session / Day & Time: See chart.

This is a five week project-based class. Beginning and advanced students explore drawing, painting and other media, including pencil, charcoal, pen & ink, pastel, lino-print, acrylic, watercolor, oil pastel, collage, clay and other sculpture materials. Some art history is also presented. Learn to use your imagination!

Classes for Teens and Adults

Classes for Teens and Adults are designed to give students a more concentrated study of art processes, tools and materials. These classes are suitable for students age 18 and older.


Crochet: Weekly Studio / Instructor: Ginny Kurowski / Price: $10 per individual date / Day: Friday / Time: 10am - 12pm

This is a weekly drop in project-based class. All skill levels welcomed. Bring one skein worsted weight yarn #4, crochet hook size H, and any project that you may be working on. Prior registration is not required for this weekly pay- as- you- go class. Please visit the gallery or website to view specific session dates, or call to secure a workspace.

Experiment with Watercolor / Instructor: Margi Hafer Price: $85 per session / Day: Monday / Time: 9:30am to 12:00pm

This 6 week class offers a wide range of possibilities for beginning and intermediate adult students. You will cover landscapes, interiors, florals, still life & more. Design, color & traditional approaches are also explored. Supplies are available for beginners to use for the first session. A list of class supplies will be discussed in the first session.

Life Drawing Open Studio / Instructor: None / Price: $15 per session/individual date / Day: Sunday / Time: 3:30pm to 5:30pm

This is a life drawing open studio, with a live model. No Instructor is provided. This is a self- guided class that begins with short poses for gesture drawing and moves into longer poses for fuller sketches or full drawings. Work at your own pace. Attendees must be 18 years or older. Life Drawing Open Studio sessions are available most 1 & 3 Sundays or as noted. Please visit the gallery or website to view specific session dates and assigned models. Walk-ins welcome. Note: Models are nudes and this class is only available to those 18+ old.

Mixed Media / Instructor: Pat Moore/Kim Watts / Price: $60 per session / Day: Tuesday / Time: 7:00pm to 9:00pm

This 5 week class is for beginners and for advanced students. Stretch your imagination and learn a variety of techniques in painting and drawing using a variety of media. This class will also cover basic techniques for framing art and will cover some art history.
